REGATA DI CARTA - PERFORMANCE LIQUIDA
La Regata di Carta di Nicoletta Boris sprigiona sentimenti decontestualizzati, genera emozioni fra leggerezze archetipiche ed il ritorno ad uno dei massimi topoi dell’immaginario bambino, la barchetta di carta, che diventano elementi significanti, simbolicamente semplici: navigando, correndo, sprofondando, sporcandosi, barche così fragili sperimentano un percorso di vita, sfidando e al tempo stesso sposando l’elemento acqua, in essa trasformando la loro natura di carta (testo Sara Maggi).
La Performance liquida Regata di Carta, dove cento barche di carta bianca della dimensione di un metro navigano sull’Arno nella corrente, ben visibili dalle sponde, si è svolta per la prima volta a Firenze il 2 ottobre 2008. E’ prevista la Regata in altre città italiane ed estere. Le barche sono in cartone riciclato e per alimenti, ricoperte di MaterBi, plastica biologica biodegradabile all’amido di mais.
Il messaggio della Regata di Carta è una riflessione sul valore energetico del vento e dell’acqua. La Performance liquida provoca un forte impatto emotivo con una valenza internazionale, comprensibile a tutti. Le barche vengono messe e ritirate a fine regata, quindi l’impatto ecologico è ottimale rispetto all’impatto emotivo.

PAPER BOAT REGATTA – LIQUID PERFORMANCE
In the Paper Boats Regatta by Nicoletta Boris, feelings spring out, emotionally constant and necessary from an archetypal clarity going back to childhood imagination, the paper boats. They become a basic element, symbolically simple: sailing, coasting, sinking, getting wet, the fragile paper boats tests life’s travel, challenging and at the same time marrying the water element, and transforming their paper nature (text Sara Maggi).
The Paper Boat Regatta liquid performance, where 100 paper boats, 1 meter long, are floating in the Arno river under Ponte Vecchio, happened for the first time in Florence on the 10.2.2008. The boat are made of ricycled cardboard coated with bioplastic MaterBi, totally recyclable, made from corn amid.
The message of the Paper Boat Regatta is on the energetic value of wind and water. The Liquid Performance has a strong emotional impact and is understandable to everybody in the public. The boats are put in and out of the water at the end of the performance, with a minimum ecological impact and a maximum emotional impact.
