ORE DI DOLCEZZA
L’opera presentata, dall’ironico titolo “Ore di dolcezza”, vuole mettere in risalto l’incapacità dell’agire umano di fronte  alla situazione creatasi da anni di produzione industriale spasmodica e sproporzionata.
L’uomo è perplesso, e non sa spiegarsi l’origine della “materia inutile” che sta per crollargli addosso.
La raccolta differenziata, strumento di civiltà necessario e indispensabile, non è da sola sufficiente a risolvere il problema dei rifiuti, che provengono da un consumo indiscriminato e insostenibile. E’ allora necessario intervenire su diversi fronti. In primo luogo sull’origine della produzione dei beni, riducendo drasticamente il materiale utilizzato per le confezioni, che diventa immediatamente “scarto”. Occorre poi agire a fondo per una nuova cultura del riuso anziché dell’uso e getta.
Ma il nodo della questione sta nel modificare il nostro comportamento di vita verso una  progressiva riduzione dei consumi. Lo stesso concetto di sviluppo, che da troppo tempo tende a coincidere con quello di crescita quantitativa e che ha condotto ad una esasperazione del “consumo” come elemento centrale della nostra esistenza, va completamente reinterpretato: è possibile pensare ad una qualità della vita che dipenda da quello che si è, e non da quanto si possiede.

HOURS OF SWEETNESS
The proposed piece, ironically entitled “hours of sweetness”, aims to highlight the incompetence of human behaviour in the face of a situation that has been built up by years of frantic and excessive industrial production.
The man is perplexed, he can not make sense of the source of this “useless material” that is about to collapse all over him.
“Separate collection of household waste”, while an indispensable and vital tool of a civilised society, is not – in and of itself – sufficient in solving the problems posed by waste, problems that are the result of an indiscriminate and unsustainable degree of consumption.
It is therefore necessary to take action in a number of different ways.
First of all, at the source of consumer goods production, by cutting down, for example, on the materials utilized in packaging, that immediately become waste.
Secondly, by promoting the spread of a new culture based on “re-utilization”, rather than on “using and throwing away”.
But the crux of the matter lies with modifying our way of life with the aim of progressively reducing our consumption. The same concept of development, long associated with that of quantitative growth, has led to an exasperated level of consumption that has become a central component of our existence; this concept must now be completely revisited: we need to be able to think about our quality of life based on what we are, and not on how much we have.
