LA PORTA DELL'ANIMA
The work I am introducing, was created in 1999, but its conception was born gradually.
Going around the city of Catania that, to be honest, is far from environmentally friendly ideals, green building, recycling, etc…something caught my attention. I was standing whit my back to the wall when, near a garbage bin, I noticed an old door wooden frame belonged to who knows whom. Suddenly I saw it under another light, it was there for me and I decided to escape its inevitable fate of firewood bringing it to my studio to give shape to my vision and complete what I had seen.
It is not a ready-made, nor nouveaux realisme, rather is it the birth of an idea, a remark with other eyes that suddenly and in that juncture I had, it is a completion of what appeared to me “the beginning”. Although time has passed and now I probe other areas of investigation, I believe that this work remains indelibly one of my best works to which I am intimately attached.
I am sending the work “ the door of the soul ”, whit the hope that it evokes what the purest intellectual recycle and the vision of an artist can do.

THE DOOR OF THE SOUL
L’opera che presento, è stata eseguita nel 1999, la cui ideazione è nata in itinere.
Attraversando il centro della città di Catania, per la verità ben lungi dagli ideali ecocompatibili, bioedilizia, raccolta differenziata…, osservai, rivolto spalle al muro, nei pressi di un cassonetto per l’immondizia, un vecchio telaio di porta in legno dismesso da un anonimo.
Lo vidi improvvisamente sotto altra luce, era lì per me e decisi di sottrarlo al suo inevitabile destino da “legna da ardere” portandolo nel mio studio, per completare ciò che avevo visto.
Non è un ready-made, né nouveaux realisme, piuttosto il nascere di un’idea, un osservare con altri occhi che improvvisamente ed in quel frangente avevo, portare a compimento ciò che mi appariva l’inizio.
Nonostante sia passato del tempo ed oggi sondo altri campi d’indagine, credo che tale opera resti indelebilmente uno dei lavori più belli e al quale sono intimamente legato.
Vi invio l’opera “La porta dell’Anima ”, con l’augurio che rievochi ciò che di più puro il riciclo intellettivo e la visione di un artista può effettuare.
