IL CONTE DI MONTECRISTO
Ho visto questo coccodrillo dentro un trave di legno spaccato da un lato e naufragato sulla mia isola. Fa parte dei milioni di tronchi di quercia che un tempo formavano antiche foreste e furono poi abbattuti, lavorati e usati come traverse nella costruzione delle prime ferrovie. L’arte a volte esprime un desiderio di rinascita e di vendetta contro lo sfruttamento e l’abbandono.

I saw this crocodile in a wooden beam cleft on one side that was shipwrecked on my island. It belongs to the millions of oak trunks which once formed ancient forests, and were afterwards cut down, processed and used as ties in the construction of the first railroads. Art sometimes expresses a desire for revival and revenge against exploitation and neglect.
