SVEGLIA COL RICICLO!
L’Italia produce 31 milioni di tonnellate di spazzatura l’anno. Una parte finisce nelle discariche, molta viene mandata all’estero, lontano dagli occhi e lontano dal cuore. Ma una parte finisce nelle nostre cucine.
Perché forse non tutti sanno che 37 lattine di alluminio sono sufficienti per produrre una Moka, indiscussa protagonista del rituale mattutino degli Italiani. Non un oscuro oggetto del desiderio, un privilegio per pochi costoso e difficile da reperire, ma una semplice caffettiera che ci attende brillante sul fornello ad ogni risveglio, orgogliosa del suo Italian style così diverso dai bollitori USA o dalle teiere British.
Separare e riciclare i rifiuti sono semplici gesti che consentono di risparmiare energia nel processo di lavorazione dei materiali e di ridurre le emissioni inquinanti. E la varietà di prodotti e manufatti realizzabili con la raccolta differenziata è in realtà molto più ampia ed utile di quanto si creda.
Essere consumatori consapevoli è una scelta che migliora la qualità della nostra vita, sia ambientale che alimentare, permettendoci di rispettare la natura e salvaguardare una delle più radicate tradizioni nazionali. Perché amare e tutelare l’ambiente dovrebbe essere un quotidiano piacere ed una sana abitudine, così come un buon caffè...

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!
Italy produces 31 million tons of trash every year, with most of it ending up in rubbish dumps. Much of this gets sent abroad, far away from our eyes and far away from our hearts, but a good part ends up in our kitchens!
Most of us do not know that it takes 37 aluminum cans to produce a Moka, the real protagonist of the Italian breakfast. Neither a dark object of desire nor an expensive or exclusive privilege for the lucky few, just a shining coffeepot that waits for us on the stove every morning, proud of its Italian design so different from the USA kettles or the British teapots.
Separating and recycling rubbish are simple everyday gestures that permit us to save energy in the industrial working process and reduce toxic emissions. Moreover, the products made by reused materials are more common and useful than is generally believed.
Being aware means improving the quality of our life, both in terms of environment and tradition, allowing us to respect nature and at the same time conserve one of our national rituals. Because to love and protect our planet should be a healthy habit and a duty, just like a good cup of coffee…
