BELLO COME IL SOLE
Il tema che ho voluto affrontare in questo lavoro è legato al clima, con particolare riferimento al problema del “Riscaldamento globale”, espressione usata per indicare l’aumento, dovuto ai cd. “gas serra”, della temperatura media dell’atmosfera. Nel caso specifico tale problema è rappresentato dal mais nella misura in cui lo stesso, per effetto di un’ondata fulminea di calore, esplode trasformandosi nei caratteristici pop-corn. Tuttavia, i pop-corn, a dispetto del loro simbolo, non rappresentano più un momento di allegria o di spensieratezza, ma assumono tragicamente le sembianze di un teschio umano. Tale trasformazione vuole quasi rappresentare un ammonimento per l’uomo affinché ponga attenzione a tutto ciò che lo circonda e rifletta, soprattutto, sulle conseguenze che possono derivare dalle attività che pone in essere. In particolare, un simile avvertimento assume un significato ancora più dirompente se si considera che l’uomo ha contribuito in maniera decisiva all’intensificazione dell’effetto serra ai danni del pianeta. Lo stesso titolo “Bello come il sole” è indicativo del cambiamento che il riscaldamento globale produce anche nelle espressioni tipiche del gergo comune.

BEAUTIFUL AS THE SUN
The subject that I wanted to address in this work is related to climate, with special reference to the problem of "Global Warming", a term used to indicate an increase of the average temperature of the atmosphere caused by greenhouse gasses. In this case the problem is represented by the corn and its explosion caused by the effect of a sudden wave of heat that turns them into popcorn. Popcorn, however, in spite of its symbolic meaning, doesn’t represent a moment of joy or carelessness anymore, but tragically assumes the shape of a human skull. This metamorphosis almost represents a warning to the human being, to pay attention to everything that surrounds him and that reflects above all, the consequences that may result from his actions. Such a warning, in particular, takes on even greater disruptive significance when one considers the decisive manner in which human beings have contributed to the intensification of global warming consequences affecting the planet. The title "Beautiful as the sun" is also indicative of the impact that the global warming has on typical expressions of the common slang.
