PELLE DELL'ALBERO
Corteccia, ortica, canapa tinta con tintura naturale, filo di canapa.
Opera riferita al tema Foreste, per sensibilizzare al rispetto e alla conservazione del patrimonio forestale mondiale, oggi fortemente minacciato.
Brandelli di corteccia d’albero sono stati pazientemente legate a un ordito di ortica e ricuciti con filo di canapa, per simulare una pelle stesa.
La continuità della superficie-contenitore dell’albero, la corteccia, è già stata distrutta; il supplizio ha già avuto luogo e la pelle –corteccia ha perso la capacità di contenere la linfa e il corpo dell’albero.
Quello che l’opera propone è una ricostruzione della corteccia stessa. La corteccia strappata ma ricostruita vuole assumere una valenza positiva: come nei miti antichi, la conservazione dell’integrità della pelle preserva la conservazione della vita.

SKIN OF THE TREE
Tree bark, nettle rope, hemp dyed with natural dyes, hemp thread.
The work is referred to the theme Forests. It is intended to sensitize people to respect and preserve the world forest heritage which nowadays is strongly in jeopardy.
Tree bark shreds have been patiently tied to a warp of nettle and sewn with hemp thread to feign a stretched out skin.
The integrity of the surface-case of the tree, the bark, has been destroyed; the torture is complete and the skin-bark has lost its function of containing the sap and the body of the tree.
The work proposes a reconstruction of the bark itself. The shredded bark pieced together intends to give a positive message: as in the ancient myths, the conservation of the skin integrity preserves the life itself.
